Is it just me or was the BIKE course layed out to get as many bikes stuck as possible ? Angry

As my row was the last to take off and therefore the last to hit the swampy areas, I would just like to thank all those who went before me and left their bikes buried in the mud.  They served as excellent markers for the rest of us as to where NOT to go. Grin

I doubt the intent was to deliberately get bikes stuck, but the swamp was probably a mistake.  I think the crew did an excellent job of recognizing this and re-routing the course.  It looked like to me a lot of guys probably got stuck on their first lap in their haste to get around bottlenecks.  Sometimes, it pays to take a few seconds to survey the situation and pick a good alternate line.  I'm not much one for sitting around all day looking at obstacles, but I also don't like to charge headlong into water of unknown depth or mud that has no bottom.  I'd rather finish last and get a couple hours of riding in than finish last and have to wrestle a bike out of 4 ft. deep mud or fish it off the bottom of a creek bed 10 minutes into the race.

no offence to anyone but after somebody was stuck in the two lines I had been using through the swamp, and getting stuck in one up to my radiators (which everyone standing there must have hated KTMs cause no one would help me) I'm glad they didn't rout the 4 wheelers around it. Awesome race hope this one is on the schedule for next year.

I understand, I took my turn at the bottle necks and still got stuck on lap 2, its just that I had a pretty bad back injury several years ago wrestling a bike out of muck - that was no fun - No riding for 3 years  Sad

Just wanted to thank the ixcr crew for another great track. Very technical and challenging track with a good mix and flow thoughout the whole track. I just wish I hadn't stripped the front sprocket on my 3rd lap. Luckily I was able to limp back to the finish line to try to find a sprocket. After not having any luck with finding a sprocket I decided to call it a day.

That was not the GOAL... Sorry you had a bad race the layout was intended to be a VERY technical course the land didn't hold up around the creek crossings as expected!!! I would like to think of the course as a Post-Ironman...
