Jul 19th, 2010, 8:06pm

i have an 07 450er just had to rebuild it it now has a big bore kit 477 a hot cams stage 1 cam a fmf pipe,k&n air filter with outer wear and no lid with an outer wear lid  and a moose jet kit it has a 45 pilot a175 main and needle is i think on the 4th clip down the same length as stock air screw a turn and a half  well the problem idles fine starts fine takes off good if your just rollin on the gas about alittle over 1/4 throttle to 1/2 it kinda like cuts out to maybe misses but you go more and it comes out of it and goes i didnt really get on it hard or really wind it out but before it seemed to kinda pull so hard then kinda flaten out at top end i think this is same problem but worsened with big bore kit  which way do i need to go bigger main or move needle up any help would be great

Fuel screw has nothing to do with mid range probs.  You hit it on the head.  Need to go bigger on the main and/or go bigger on the pilot.  Personally, I would start with the pilot.  45 sounds small for a big bore.  I run a 52 pilot and my motor is stock.  Do, that and bump up the main one size and see where she goes.  You may have to get the HRC needle which has a more dramatic taper to get more fuel into the midrange.

well i put a 48 pilot and a 185 main and it still cuts out and i mean when you just take off and slowly roll it will just start cuttin out right at1/4 throttle every time but it will come out of it and go tried turnin air screw in and out no change the only other thing i thought was unrelated but maybe the same is at the prefect north race when i got in the fast fields or the long mud bogg it would do the cuttin out thing at full throttle in 4th or 5th and then slow down and die it would start back up and go fine till your wide open i replaced gas cap reset float level and made sure tank flowed good all was good didnt get to ride or race since engine went south now im trying to break it in and it runs bad just in a certain rpm range starts great idles smooth revs good unless you keep revin g kinda fast and itll do that cuttin out but in neutral     you roll throttle it doesnt seem to do it now im gonna go to the 52pilot and a 190 main and move the clip on the needle itll either be worse better or the same if it doesnt change at the same rpm im gonna start checkin sensors on carb i tried swappin cdi if all that checks out i guess it could be pick up but its only at certain rpm and its not all the way broke in to run it wide open to see if it does it still wide open and my yard isnt big enough to hit 4 th or 5th gear ill let you know fri night wont be able to mess with it thurs night  any suggestions are welcome and thanks to everyone
